March 20, 2017

HI Mom!
Glad to hear things are a little better.
Murrietta is hot, and dry. It's been a hard adjustment actually this time around. Plus I'm freaking getting sick again. I have this lung cold going on. It's not too hard to breathe but there's definitely some fluid in there. I was able to play football this morning just fine though.

The work is pretty good. We have a family 8, and a family of 4, and a family of 3, and a high school senior who is dating a Laurel and wants to get taught. We've met with the family of 4. They're pretty cool. Kind of lazy but that's ok. The kids went to church yesterday. The mom is kind of disabled but we're still trying to get her to church. We also are going to start teaching a couple families who are about to baptize their 8 yr olds, and some youth that are about to go on a mission. So we have a lot to do. Which is good because our area is tiny! I'm excited for this transfer though I think it's going to be good! As long as I can get freaking healthy >_<

Love you!

March 13, 2017

Sorry I have to keep this short!! I was emailing and the internet went out and I wasn't able to get back on until now. Sooooooooooooooooo:

1. I'm going to the Los Almos Ward in Murietta which is pretty close to my last ward which was in Temecula My new companion is Elder Adams, I don't know him.
2. Definitely going to be hotter
3. Am I excited? Meh. Just going to feel it out. It's apparently the smallest geographical area in the mission
4. I ate all the food. I wouldn't mind some snack stuff. crackers gummy snacks and what not

I'm actually kind of sad to leave this ward. I really love this ward. I connected with the people here a lot more than my other 2 wards. I'm pretty nervous and stressed about starting over again. And it's probably going to be my last ward. I should be fine though! People say Elder Adams is cool and that everyone loves going to Murrieta. yesterday we said bye to the Curtis family (the one we pranked for Christmas on behalf of the Frandsen family) and they decided that we should get back at the Frandsen family. So we went over to the Frandsen's and had everyone sit in the living room, and then 2 minutes later the Curtis's burst through the door and started spraying super soakers at them haha. They weren't that happy though because it was an antique wool rug and leather furniture. So we ended up drying the rug haha. The rest of the visit was awkward but it got less awkward as it went on. I love both of those families haha. I'm definitely going to try and visit them eventually.

Baaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
That's all I got
Love you!

HI
I got all the stuff even Othello. And yeah I've tossed that board a couple times now. This Spanish sister beat me 2/2 when we played Othello. I almost flipped that board too haha.

Transfers are the 14th and President confirmed that I'm leaving in our interview. I think I would prefer going to Vista. But I really just don't want to go to the Temecula/Murieta area again because I'll be there all Summer.

Speaking of boring. Right on queue for transfers some cool stuff starts to happen. This lady, who told one of our members that she'd like a Priesthood blessing and to learn about The Family Proclamation named Lynnette Bowmen, finally set something up and we went over to the member's house (Brother Goates) and we had a good lesson on the Proclamation and the Plan of Salvation. We also gave her a Blessing and the Spirit was super strong and she said she felt it, and the Goates' felt it and we both felt it. She agreed to take all the lessons. She didn't agree to go to church though. We have another appointment this Friday with her. So I'll probably teach her one more time before I leave. We also started helping these non-members pack up and move out of their house. Their names our Thomas and Brianna. They've had a lot of problems with drugs and the hope is that while we're helping them we can share the Gospel with them. We spent one night talking to this gay guy who's a member of our ward all about the conspiracy theories on the Denver Airport. That was a pretty fun time haha. We also went over to the Lingardo's house, who have a son that just returned from a mission but they're not members, and they let us try out they're Oculous Rift VR headset. I'll send you some pictures of that. hopefully a video if it'll fit somewhere.

We also went to Buffalo Wild Wings, and Elder Draper, our District Leader's companion, did the Flaming hot challenge. Which is 12 Flaming hot (ghost pepper sauce) in 6 minutes with no drink. He ate 5 and almost died. It was hilarious and scary how his face so quickly turned bright red. The staff felt bad for him so they refunded the wings and they gave him 3 bottles of milk, and a slice of bread to put on his face.

I found a bunch of Christmas candy that I haven't eaten yet. So my healthy binge got kind of ruined this week. I also bought a thing of Cheez-Its and Oreos today. Zzzzzzz.

Well I think that's it!
Love you!!!

February 27, 2017

Yeah still haven't been able to get glasses haha. I forgot to write down the information you told me last time, so I wasn't able to call the doctor. We haven't gotten the mail yet, so not sure if I got the package. But yeah, 6 months left! It's weird because time feels like it goes by kind of slowly but looking back it feels like it's been really fast. But yeah 1 more area probably. It's pretty crazy! So the truck elders are the elders the office use to deliver things that missionaries need like furniture. They also do things like moving the missionaries out of apartments, like if they close an area or they need to move the missionaries to another apartment. Stuff like that. They still cover a ward though so it's not like it would be full time doing that.

Work wise I'm honestly getting a little frustrated, just because we have gotten all of these potentials and none of them ever come through. Something seems to always keep us from being able to meet with people. Like we didn't have a single lesson this week. Sigh.. Oh well. We'll just keep pushing on. This transfer's kind of flying by actually. I feel like I'm really going to miss this area when I leave. It has been my favorite ward by far even if not much has happened. Our ward mission leader had us go to our ward activity, so we played Battle of the Sexes with the ward. That was kind of fun even though I was pretty clueless on most of the guy questions even, let alone the girl ones. Trivia is not my strong suit.

How's the weather? It's raining again here. I'm pretty over the rain.
I'm excited to get some cool games. We played chess last night and I literally flipped the board in my companion's face. Something about chess has just been making me lose it lately haha. I think it's because it makes you feel completely retarded when you make a bad move. So hopefully those games are here haha.

I might have to wait till next transfer again to get glasses haha. Maybe I should just wait at this point. I'll think about it.

Hope your week goes well!
Love you!

Hi!
thanks for the info! I'm going to try and see an eye doctor this week. We're like swamped though so we might not be able to.

That's kind of what I've decided is to finish my associates. Then probably a business degree. I don't know. I'll figure it out. I'll talk to that firefighter in our ward when I go home.

As far as the work goes. Marc Dowd has been smoke free for 8 days, so that's pretty nuts! We don't really know what his desire is so we are taking it really slow. We'd be super excited to baptize him but neither of us feel like he's doctrinaly there. He has a lot of Born again view points which aren't necessarily bad, but they become a concern when he says things like "These ordinances aren't really that important" or "What's the big deal about prophets?" So yeah... It's a process. We scheduled an appointment with Maureen Luecawits for this Saturday. It sounds like we'll be able to pick her up and that she'll keep commitments so that's cool! We're still trying to contact some other potentials as well. We are probably going to be spending most of the week helping Richard and Elena move out by Saturday. That's going to frustrating haha... They're very nit picky and we've spent almost 4 months tring to help them get out of their apartment. We have Gospel conversations with Richard so I'm hoping that we can get him to accept a Book of Mormon before he leaves. It could go either way. One of our Ward missionary's son just returned from his mission and he's something else haha. It's like he's permanently high or something. I think the ocean messes with your brain or something and that's why surfer bros act the way they do. He took us to In & Out. Have I told you about In & Out? Everyone in California is obsessed with In & Out. It's kind of cheap but really not that good. I like Wendy's better, but everyone says it's the best and there's lines out the door every day. It's kind of redonculous.

I'm doing pretty well. I'm only trunky on some days haha. I'll probably only have 1 more area and I feel like that area's going to fly by. We'll see what happens. I kind of want to so something new, like be a truck elder or go to a YSA ward or something.

Love you!!!!!!

February 13, 2016

HI!

Yeah so we helped the lady move and we stopped by her house like a week or so after that and she invited us to come by. We got him a little card and put $5 in it. He opened it up and was like "I'M RICH!" It was pretty funny haha. We are going to go by her again some time but we're both kind of unsure if it'll go anywhere. But who knows?

So a business degree might be pretty beneficial as well and I could take some public speaking classes along with that.I should really talk with someone and figure out what makes the most sense.

So not as much happened as we wanted to this week. The potential Mellissa wasn't there at the time she told us to come by. We weren't able to talk to Naomi very much at the birthday party and Marc is still being very stubborn. We keep trucking though. We have an appointment with another lady named Maureen on Tuesday so there's still hope! So on Friday... we were talking to this family and sharing a message about keeping our minds focused on good positive things instead of negative or impure things. Right at the end of the lesson their daughter comes home from dance class with her shirt off and in like the shortest shorts ever. Pretty freaking hilarious. God has a sense of humor. Amen.

So yeah not much else happened this week. We had a dinner with a lady named Jonesy which was just all vegetables. So no I have a six pack. Just kidding but I'm eating pretty healthy right now! Woohoo................................................................

Love you!!

Hi!
Yea I still want to do fire I think.  I think I'll finish my associates's degree first though.

Yeah I heard the Super Bowl was crazy too bad the Pats won though. I guess Brady's the only QB to win 5 Super Bowls. Too bad it was him haha.

This week was pretty awesome actually. We picked up like 3 solid potentials and we also have Robert who should come back from Romania some time soon. So things are picking up! One is a really cool single mom we helped move. We went over like a week or so after and talked to her a bit and asked her if she'd be willing to learn more and she said yeah. She doesn't sound like she wants to commit to joining but she also seems like she'll keep commitments and that's the most important part. We were invited to her son's birthday party and we'll talk to her some more there. Another is a nice mother named Mellissa we talked to a couple times. We have an appointment with her on Friday. Marc Dowd has also said he wants to quit smoking. So we'll be able to start working with him even more now. We visited Johnie and she is still pretty solid but she just keeps getting scheduled to work on Sunday. So she'll get baptized but I'll probably be gone by the time she does. And there's Robert who we'll start teaching when he gets back from Romania. So things are getting pretty busy! Woooo!

All board games have been approved so I bought Sheriff of Nottingham. It was pretty fun haha. It's like all bribery, and bluffing and if you have a good group it's pretty hilarious. We're also going to watch a bunch of cheesy church movies today. Our district pretty sweet. All of them are hilarious.

Umm that's all I can think of. Things are good!
Love you!!!!
