March 28, 2016

Dang that Brussels guy's a stud! I'm glad he's doing ok. That's crazy it's still snowing that bad there. It's been in like the 90s up here haha. Easter was good.  We ate with the Lombardi's.

The week was pretty slow to be honest, though. We had 3 or 4 people tell us they were going to come to church and didn't show up. We seem to have some pretty solid people that we're teaching but we can never meet with them. So we're getting kind of frustrated. Hopefully things will start slowing down and we can start getting people to commit. This is week 6 of the transfer. This transfer is actually 7 weeks long as well because the MTC switched their English speaking missionary training length from 12 days back to 3 weeks because the influx of missionaries has died down. So they added a week to this transfer to compensate. But yeah, we're probably both going to be staying. Elder Sharp's only been in this area 1 transfer before this one so I doubt they'll ship him out that fast.

This week is going to be interesting. We are completely out of money and we forgot to bring our dinner calendar to church and we don't get paid until Thursday haha. So yeah we don't have any dinners scheduled this week. Hopefully, we will be able to fix that.

How are you talking to Grandma and Grandpa?

I have found that you have to show God what you are willing to do for him before he builds your faith. Take me for example. I had a very shaky if any testimony of the Gospel before my mission. But I was determined to use my mission to find out for myself if it was real or not. So I showed God that I was willing to act. Because I was willing to act, he blessed me with spiritual experiences and my faith and testimony grew, and the doubts that I had were answered. Now, I'm not saying that you have to serve a mission to develop a testimony, but I think you do have to put in effort. Sincerely reading the Book of Mormon and then praying to know if it's true for example. When I got an answer about the Book of Mormon, a lot of my doubts and questions were answered.

I gotta go.  Happy Easter!

Pretty slow week here as well. My companion's feeling better and we actually never stayed in. He's a tough guy. Work wize was pretty rough We only got to meet with Brittney and Riley a couple times. But we're actually pretty excited about them. She's pretty much stopped drinking coffee and has almost quit smoking. We saw her last night and she looked really good! Her countenance was just really bright and it was very refreshing to see. She's hopefully going to be able to make it to church this Sunday. So that'll be awesome. But other than that we pretty much struck out every day. We even tracted a neighborhood haha. We picked up a former investigator Saturday night so maybe that will lead to something.

Well Happy Easter! Conference is coming up too so that'll be cool.
Love you guys!

March 14, 2016
Hey! The mission is going super! We had a lady come to church yesterday. Her name is Anjelita and we've been meeting with her for about a month. It was awesome because church seemed to be geared toward every question or desire she had. She said she liked it and she'll probably be back next week! We are probably going to try and set a baptismal date this week. I'm super excited for her! we spent like 2 and a half hours there Saturday night teaching and talking to her, and there were moments where the Spirit was super strong. Love it.

We work with this recent convert named TJ on her horse ranch. We have done eveything from raking up poop and feeding the horses to stacking wood, to cutting and rolling up wire fence. Pretty much just whatever she wants us to do. We built a big horse pen a couple weeks ago. It's pretty fun, it's nice to do something different and more hands on.
Oh I almost forgot. My companion got shingles haha. I've also had a little cold or something going on. My nose has been really stuffed up, and my body was aching, nothing major but it kind of sucked, and it definitely wasn't as bad as shingles haha. He was in a lot of pain. He has these gross patches that have lumps on them, and he gets these intense pains. He's on medicine and doing a lot better now, It was pretty crazy though. It's already week 4 that is flippin nuts. It's flying by this transfer.

Alright well that's all I got! Thanks for the stuff! I'm not sure if I got it or not we're meeting up with Zone leaders in like an hour or 2. But yeah it should be there. Anyway Happy St Patricks Day and Easter and Lent I guess.

Love you guys!

We are not at the library this week we are at the family history center at one of the church buildings. There's a lot more restaurants out here, so gift cards are always appreciated. We have Del Taco, Subway, 5 guys, McDonald', Burger King, Olive Garden. I don't need all of those, I really don't need gift cards but... I love gift cards.

I read their blog that sounds pretty rough. I wonder what they'll be doing when it's all settled down. We've been working on a farm like once a week so we've  sort of been working hard.

Pretty slow week again, still meeting the ward but I think I've met all of our investigators except 1. Only a couple seem really promising though. We are finding though so I believe we'll start having some work to do. We've been working on inspiring the members to do missionary work. They just called 2 more ward missionaries, so hopefully we can get something going. We've set some pretty good goals and I have faith that we can achieve them. I've gotten to the point where I'd rather be working than doing most things. That's probably a good thing right?
