January 30, 2017

Hi Mom!
I am staying. College has been on my brain a lot.(probably because people keep bringing it up.) Should I like apply to BYU Idaho right now? Or should I just finish my associates at PPCC? Baaaahhhhhh

We had a crazy service week. 22 hours of helping people either pack or move. 1 family we moved we might be able to start teaching so that's cool. We had stake conference this week and the 70 Elder Blunk came and visited the stake. In the adult session he taught the stake how to share the Gospel in a non-awkward way. President and Sister Thomas role played with him and it was an awkward train wreck haha! President Thomas also spoke in the general session and he talked about when he was recovering from throat surgery and he really wanted some shrimp, and he was really surprised when his home teachers brought him a platter of shrimp. He was cracking up the whole time. I was busting up at how funny he thought it was. It was a good talk about following the promptings of the Spirit.

This will officially be the longest area I have on my mission. After this I will only have 4 more transfers so probably 1 more area.

Love you!!

Hola Como estas

We are doing pretty swell. Just trying to deal with the rain. California is not built for rain and wind. We saw a bunch of trees fell over and they took out power lines and all sorts of stuff.

This whole election year has been kind of a big joke if you ask me. Just kind of embarrassing for our country. Not because Trump but because of how people are reacting to him. You can't impeach him, you can't protest him out of office, all you can do is support him and give him a shot, and maybe he'll do some good.

As far as food goes. I still haven't eaten all of it haha. I'm also determined to become healthy so I'm cutting out a lot of junk food and this lady's going to teach me how to cook some fast and healthy food dishes that'll keep for a while and are pretty cheap. She gave us some two days ago and it was pretty tasty so I'm excited. It tasted way better than the soup I'd been making.

The work is going pretty well. We had a good week. We didn't really teach anyone but we got some referrals and picked up some potential investigators. So hopefully it will turn into something! We also started teaching Sister Love again who is kind of struggling with her testimony. We had a good lesson this morning with her. We'll probably see her once or twice a week. Robert's in Romania so we can't teach him. Cathy might be getting back in town so maybe we can teach her this week. And HOPEFULLY, Praying, reaally reeeaaallly want to meet with Johnie Cropp this week as well.

Yesterday I prayed and asked Heavenly Father to help me have a better attitude and we went to Church and in Elder's quorum the lesson was on how to have a better attitude......
Church=True

That's all I got this week
Love you!!!!

Hey Mom!
That weather sounds crazy but I'm glad you guys got everything fixed.  It's supposed to rain like crazy some more this week down here. We got caught one day in the rain and got totally soaked. We went to the Orme's family for dinner that day and they let us put all our clothes in the dryer which was nice. Kind of weird hanging out in just a sweater and pants at a member's house but not weird enough for me to say no haha. There's a lot of sickness going around here as well. I've gotten sick twice in the 5 weeks I've been with Elder Talbot. We had to spend a couple days inside each time it happened. Staying in sucks. It's really boring.

Work wise we have a couple things going on. We just got asked to teach sister Love the lessons again. She is kind of struggling with her testimony. Dora Bocater is going to ask Naomi Coons (a non-member who is married to Brother Coons) to take the lessons. So we'll see how that goes. We also might start teaching Marc Dowd again. We still haven't been able to meet with Johnie Cropp. Pray for her please we're all starting to kind of worry about her. We helped an old lady get her mail and then she asked for a pamphlet and said that she might be willing to talk to us another day. That was a cool experience. We were trying to find something we could do before going in for lunch and I felt like we should go stop by this old potential. They didn't answer but we decided to tract the houses around them and we ran into the old lady. Pretty cool faith building experience.

Can't think of much else to say

Love you!

Not much happened this week. The highlight of our week was when we went to Little Ceasars and after we sat down a guy came up and gave us $20. Then a less active guy came out of the bar we were sitting at that we had been trying to meet up with. So that was pretty sweet. Other than that we were just focusing on this new move in list that we got and also another list of people who didn't have home teachers. Kind of a slow week.

Sorry this one is kind of short we got here a little late, and we're at the Church building and other people are waiting for us.

I'll do better next week haha!

Love you

January 3, 2017

Hey Happy New Year!! I got sick again this week so we spent most of the week inside. We spent New years Eve just playing games in our apartment. It was pretty bad. I'm feeling better now though. I think I might have gotten sick at Christmas. The Curtis's kid was sick so I probably got whatever he had. He apparently was throwing up so at least I didn't get that. So yeah... not much I can think of for this week. I bought a chess set. Elder Talbot beat me three times and I realized that I freaking hate chess. We found some playing cards as well and I taught him how to play Canasta. It was kind of fun. We are trying to schedule something with Johnie Cropp this week. We started talking with her cousin and she just pounced on Johnie so hopefully her cousin can get the ball rolling again. We decided to stop meeting with Marc for right now. We're going to let him mellow out and just come to Church and just let the Spirit work on his desire for awhile. Yeah I wish I had more to write about geez...We got scheduled to work at the CRC today from 11:45 to 3 today so we had to move some of p-day to yesterday. It's annoying but also nice at the same time. Yesterday was a super easy day, we just helped Richard move from 2:30-4:30
then had a huge Mexican dinner at the Hartmins then visited a couple members and suddenly it was 9pm. The CRC isn't that hard either, we're just working at a food pantry, so it's not too bad of a deal. Something annoying about the mission though is that you find yourself getting really annoyed about petty things. Like that we couldn't just email in service clothes even though we're going straight from here to the CRC. So we still have to be in our proselyting uniform and probably change in the car or something. See it sounds petty but it gets really annoying.

Hey it was super good to talk to you! I am happy! I feel ok. I got sick and got out of the habit of working out and I've been eating a lot worse in the Christmas season, and I've noticed the effects. It's been super hard to get up in the morning and I'm starting to feel kind of fat again. I've learned that what you eat matters probably 5 times more than how much you work out. Saying that and practicing it however are 2 completely different things.

ABOUT THOSE SOCKS. Did you steal those Dragon Ball Z socks? The security button was still on them and I had to take a butter knife and force break it off. And apparently they make those with glass shards and some type of blue liquid and it spills out when you try and force it open. I couldn't get the plastic part completely off and had to just kind of push the tiny plastic part that didn't break off through the 2 socks so they both have 2 holes on either side of them. They aren't too bad though so I'll still wear them. I just thought it was kind of funny. I like the socks though they're cool. Thank you for all the things I got. Especially the gift cards holy cow!

Christmas was awesome. After we Skyped we had dinner, and then we did our dinner message. When we finished the message we doused them all in silly string. It was sweet. And they were good sports about it. They also only talked about getting back at the Frandsen's (the family that recruited us) so we kind of got off scot free. I'm still on my toes in case of retaliation though. But it was worth it whatever happens. I also convinced their son to video tape it. He thought he was just filming us teaching hehe. I brought all my camera stuff so I'll drop the videos in drop box. One is just the lesson. He turned it off and then when he saw that we were doing something else he turned it back on. So we were in the middle of spraying them when the video starts. The lesson video is kind of funny as well just because he was being a goof with the camera. After that we had a big Nerf war with them. It was the adults and missionaries vs the kids. Sad to say we got creamed. After that we went caroling with the missionaries in our Zone. It was pretty fun!

It was super good to talk to you. I really do miss you. Thanks again for everything! Happy New Year!!
Love you!
